2009 Auto Sales
BMW and MINI Pre-Owned sales surge in January
WHITBY - BMW Group Canada (BMW and MINI Brands
combined) reported January sales of 968 vehicles, a decline of 23.1% compared
to January 2008.
The BMW brand retailed 880 units, a decrease of 20% over January 2008.
BMW Pre-Owned sales set an an all-time record for January with sales of
643 BMW Pre-Owned units, representing an increase of 27% over January 2008. Of
those January Pre-Owned sales, 543 units were BMW Certified Pre-Owned sales,
an increase of 30.2% over January last year.
BMW Motorrad recorded January sales of 20 units, up 53.8% over January
2008.
MINI's January sales declined 44% compared to January 2008, with 88 MINIs
sold.
Total MINI Pre-Owned sales for January increased 28.9% to 49 units,
compared to January 2008. Of January MINI Pre-Owned sales, MINI NEXT Certified
Pre-Owned vehicle sales were up 12% compared to January 2008 with 28 units
sold.
