AJAX - Volkswagen Canada has announced that its sales totalled 1,893 new units for January 2009, a slight decrease of 1.6% compared to January 2008. Sales of Volkswagen's compact and fuel-efficient Jetta Sedan and Wagon models were well ahead of January of last year with an increase of 110.6%. This increase was fuelled by the availability of Volkswagen's award-winning TDI Clean Diesel technology which comprised 80% of Jetta sales and almost 30% of Volkswagen's total sales during the month.
