ManageEngine Partners with RSA to Provide Two-Factor Authentication Technology to Password Manager Pro Customers

Austin, TX - ManageEngine, makers of a globally renowned suite of cost-effective network, systems and security management software solutions, announced that it has forged a technology interoperability partnership with RSA, The Security Division of EMC, and has achieved RSA Secured® certification signaling that ManageEngine Password Manager Pro, the company's Privileged Password Management solution, is now technically interoperable with the RSA SecurID® two-factor authentication system. This compatibility with RSA SecurID technology helps bolster security to the administrative passwords managed by Password Manager Pro by preventing unauthorized access to its web interface through an additional layer of protection.

In addition to interoperability with RSA SecurID two-factor authentication technology, the latest release of ManageEngine Password Manager Pro, version 6.0 now offers robust password request-release workflow, which helps enforce enhanced access control in the product. The user, who requires a password, will have to 'request the release' and one or more administrators will authorize the request. The password availability to the user is time limited. It will be automatically reset thereafter and the user will thereby forfeit the access. When used in conjunction with industry-leading RSA SecurID technology, Password Manager Pro will require users to identify themselves with its existing authentication mechanisms, and then the RSA SecurID one-time password, which changes every sixty seconds, and the user’s PIN to provide a layer of two-factor authentication.

“With increasing adoption of Password Manager Pro by enterprises, we are focused on implementing strong layers of security around the product,” said Rajesh Ganesan, Director of Product Management at ManageEngine. “Two-factor authentication and password request-release workflow capabilities make the product truly enterprise class. Our technology partnership with RSA to provide two-factor authentication capabilities is a testament to our commitment to offer best-in-class solutions to our customers,” he added.

“Password Manager Pro has helped our company meet security needs by eliminating the practice of storing passwords in unsafe places. While the product has been stellar, customer support and customer relationship has been even better,” said Bryce Paulson of RuffaloCODY, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, USA. “With a great product and great customer support, you can’t lose,” he added.

“It is more critical than ever for companies to increase the security and integrity of their valuable information. In order to help our joint customers better protect access to their information, we are pleased to be working with ManageEngine to achieve interoperability between RSA SecurID technology and Password Manager Pro,” said D.J. Long, Senior Director, Corporate Development at RSA. “Our organizations are committed to help mitigate risk to sensitive information to ensure that it is always an asset, and not a liability.”

Password Manager Pro is privileged password management software which serves as a secure vault for storing, accessing and managing shared administrative passwords. It enables IT managers to enforce standard password management practices such as maintaining a central repository of all passwords, usage of strong passwords, automatically changing sensitive passwords, controlling user access to shared passwords and keeping a record of all access to passwords across the enterprise.
