Biosoft International releases version 2.7 of SimGlycan with the ability to draw glycans and annotate spectra with cartoons.

Palo Alto, California - PREMIER Biosoft International today announced the worldwide release of version 2.7 of its MS/MS data analysis and glycopeptide elucidation tool, SimGlycan®. Users can now draw glycans and glycopeptides, fragment them and then search the database to see how close the structure is to the MS/MS experimental data loaded. This ability greatly assists in resolving glycans and glycopeptides, especially when data for the molecule of interest is not yet available.

Included now is the ability to annotate mass spectra with cartoons or Domon-Costello based nomenclature. The simple interface enables zooming into specific plot locations, specifying m/z ranges to display specific plot sections and exporting plots as image files to MS PowerPoint, making it a powerful tool for publishing findings or sharing information with colleagues.

"For research labs and pharmaceutical companies, SimGlycan® should prove to be a poweful tool for resolving novel glycans and glycopeptides" said Kay Brown, V.P. Business Development and Marketing. "In additon, users will soon be able to submit their own proprietary structures to a private database in server version we are about to release next month."
