Alden E Gibson RHI Attends InspectionWorld, Leading National Conference for Home Inspectors
Breslau - Alden E Gibson RHI of Inspections by Gibson, a local home inspection business, has just returned from InspectionWorld Orlando, the premier annual conference for the home inspection industry.
For more than 32 years, ASHI has provided home inspectors with the best in education, resources and professional networking opportunities. Its mission is to promote excellence and exemplary practice within the profession. Alden E Gibson RHI has been a member of ASHI for 17 years.
The focal point for the weeklong event was education. Home inspectors attended to add to their knowledge base and to stay current on emerging technology, all to better serve the public, both homebuyers and homeowners who are concerned about maintaining and updating their current homes. In addition to sessions on inspecting a home’s major systems and components, such as plumbing, electrical, roofs, the conference offered sessions on specialty services such as wind resistant construction techniques, residential moisture intrusion and a home’s energy performance. Business and professional training programs reinforced ASHI inspector’s commitment to customer safety and education.
By attending the various educational tracks, ASHI inspectors, such as Alden E Gibson RHI, were eligible to accrue continuing education credits. These credits fulfill a crucial ASHI membership obligation.
ASHI membership is the most stringent in the industry. ASHI Certified Inspectors must complete two written examinations, including the National Home Inspectors Examination, and conduct a minimum of 250 fee-paid peer reviewed inspections that have been verified to meet the ASHI Standards of Practice. ASHI members are also required to complete 20 hours of continuing education per year to maintain membership in the association.
Most real estate professionals recommend homebuyers have their prospective property examined by an independent home inspector before the final purchase commitment. In addition, ASHI urges homeowners to obtain an inspection every 3-5 years to learn about maintenance or safety issues as the home ages.
