New Supply Versus Conservation and Demand Management

For every dollar that the Ontario Power Authority has spent on energy conservation and efficiency, it has contracted to spend $60 on new supply.

Ontario - As of December 31, 2008 the OPA has entered into contracts for 11,559 megawatts (MW) of new supply. In addition, according to the most recent information available from the OPA, its CDM programmes have reduced demand by approximately 600 MW. For every MW of demand reduction it has achieved, the OPA has contracted for 19 MW of new supply.
