TD Merchant Services brings the benefits of chip technology to business owners
TD Merchant Services has created Canada’s first chip-enabled debit and credit software solution that works with Microsoft Dynamics Retail Management Software for business owners.
TORONTO For the first time in Canada, Microsoft Dynamics Retail Management Software (RMS) is compatible with chip technology thanks to TD Merchant Services’ integrated solution. This new capability allows the benefits of chip technology to be applied to the transaction process for users of Microsoft Dynamics RMS.
“The thousands of Canadian business owners who currently use Microsoft Dynamics RMS now have the ability to add the benefits of chip technology when processing transactions,” said Jeff van Duynhoven, Vice President, TD Merchant Services. “When the TD Merchant Services software was developed, it helped save money and time for business owners with the integration of debit and credit card processing into their existing Microsoft Dynamics RMS software, and thus helped improve the customer checkout experience. Now, we’ve taken the convenience and security of Microsoft Dynamics RMS and TD Merchant Services software to the next level by incorporating chip technology, so transactions are more secure with the same, convenient process used for both debit and credit transactions.”
The added benefits of chip technology mean merchants and customers experience:
- Faster, more efficient service at the checkout, as the PIN used with chip-enabled cards is faster to input than a signature and does not require a verification call.
- Greater security because the data on chip-enabled cards is difficult to copy or change, which, in turn, improves customer confidence in electronic transactions.
-
There is less potential for charge-backs and disputes due to unauthorized credit card transactions.
- And, the same convenient process is used for both credit and debit card transactions.
“The retail environment thrives on exemplary service and a competitive edge, but also requires tight control over business processes” says Cheri Chevalier, Group Manager, Microsoft Dynamics, Microsoft Canada Co. “This is where Microsoft Dynamics RMS comes into play, helping to retain and helping to grow market share.”
