NAV CANADA and Searidge to Develop Video Solutions for Air Traffic Services

AMSTERDAM, Netherlands - ATC Global Stand H716. Searidge Technologies, provider of intelligent video solutions to air navigation service providers (ANSPs) and airports, announced its intelligent video platform IntelliDAR(TM) is being utilized by NAV CANADA to develop innovative video technology applications for airport surface surveillance and remote monitoring.

Searidge has been working with NAV CANADA on a variety of video-based applications for more than two years. NAV CANADA has deployed various video systems including air traffic control (ATC)-grade video, marine exclusion zone monitoring, and weather automation. The IntelliDAR platform has now also been deployed at the Ottawa test-bed to allow NAV CANADA to determine the potential application of IntelliDAR to operations ranging from airport surface management and remote monitoring.

"We think video is going to play an increasingly important role in air traffic control operations. Given Searidge's market leadership in the area and our previous track record with the company, it makes them a good partner as we move forward in our testing and evaluation of video-based solutions," said John Crichton, CEO, NAV CANADA.

IntelliDAR(TM) is a Non-Cooperative Surveillance System (NCSS) that detects and tracks all targets on an airport surface. The system processes video from a series of video camera sensors networked together to provide a real-time geospatial positioning of all targets in a given area, delivered to controllers via a situational display.

"NAV CANADA is a market leading ANSP looking at best of breed technologies to help continuously improve the safety and efficiency of ATC operations. We are pleased to continue to expand our relationship and demonstrate the flexibility of the technology and its use in air traffic control operations." says Moodie Cheikh, CEO, Searidge Technologies.
