SECOND ANNUAL CHILDREN’S HERO AWARDS NOMINATE A YOUNG HERO TODAY!!

Cambridge - The Waterloo Region Children’s Safety Village is proud to host the Second Annual Children’s Hero Awards.

Nominations are now being accepted. Children living in Waterloo Region who are in grades junior kindergarten through to grade eight are eligible for an award.

Children who have assisted their classmates, parents or friends and have performed at a level beyond expectation, are eligible. Children should be recognized for heroic behaviour, good citizenship, or an outstanding safety deed, while contributing to a safer community.

Plans are for five to ten children to receive Children’s Hero Awards during a ceremony at the Waterloo Region Children’s Safety Village on Saturday, May 29th, 2010. The date falls during the 14th Annual National Safe Kids Week.

All winners will receive a corporate sponsored trophy and a certificate of citation signed by the Chiefs of the local Police and Fire Services.

Deadline for nominations is Wednesday, April 21st, 2010.
