Get Hired! Job Fair

Waterloo – Following a huge success last year, Lutherwood is hosting its second annual job fair to help connect approximately 40 Waterloo Region employers that are hiring with an anticipated 1,000 job-seekers.

Kitchener Memorial Auditorium
Subscriber’s Lounge
400 East Avenue
Wednesday March 10, 2010
2:00 – 6:00 pm

“Our local labour market is shifting from the traditional manufacturing sector toward the knowledge-based sector,” said Cathy Harrington, Director of Employment Development Services at Lutherwood. “What that means is there are individual employers and whole sectors that are looking for workers. Our job fair gives job-seekers an opportunity to find out which organizations are hiring, discover what kinds of jobs are available and shake hands with local employers that are filling vacancies right now.”

Job fair employers attending the event represent manufacturing, construction, transportation, financial services, call centre service, healthcare and social services. Job seekers are encouraged to bring resumes and be prepared to do an on-the-spot interview.

Lutherwood will have employment advisors and counsellors available to answer questions about employment search support available in the community.

This is a public event so please feel free to publicize.

Media are invited to attend to interview job seekers, employers and Lutherwood’s employment experts.

Lutherwood is a not-for-profit organization that provides employment, housing, children’s mental health and family counselling services to more than 16,000 lives in Waterloo Region and Wellington County. For more information, please visit www.lutherwood.ca.
