Green-energy financier warms up Laurier Toronto speaker series

TORONTO – Sasha Jacob, president and chief executive officer of Jacob Securities Inc. and a Laurier MBA alumnus, will talk about renewable power and clean-technology financing as part of a speaker series at the Laurier Toronto office on Tuesday, March 23, starting at 12:30 p.m.

Jacob’s talk will cover the challenges facing the renewable power, clean technology and energy sectors and the importance of this growing industry to the future of Canada. His presentation is open to the public.

Jacob, who graduated from the Laurier MBA program in 2003 and has a background in investment banking, has been acknowledged by Institutional Investor as one of the five most influential emerging players in renewable energy. He is the founder of Jacob Securities Inc., an independent investment bank providing underwriting and financial advisory services to companies in the renewable power, infrastructure and energy sectors. The firm, which is headquartered in Toronto, services small to mid-cap issuers in North America and around the world.

In 2009, Jacob received the Laurier MBA Alumni Award for Outstanding Executive Leadership. The Laurier Toronto office is located on the main floor of the Exchange Tower at 130 King St. W.
