Chicopee's Fundraising Efforts Reaches $25 000 Goal
Kitchener - Chicopee Ski & Summer Resort & Dave FM 107.5 raised $25,225.00 for the Women’s Crisis
Services of Waterloo Region through the Ski Down Wednesdays promotion featuring a
discounted skiing and snowboarding day. From January 13 to March 10, $5.00 from each full
day lift ticket sold was donated to the Women’s Crisis Services of Waterloo Region ‐ Anselma Rebuild Program. We are pleased and thankful for the support we received from the community in reaching our goal.
Women’s Crisis Services is part of a network of community services and opportunities available
to women and children to aid in the development of new family patterns in an atmosphere of
trust and openness. The Rebuild Anselma House…Rebuild Lives campaign is working to build a
new Anselma House shelter and the services that go hand‐in‐hand.
Margaret Attwell, Fund Development Manager for the Women’s Crisis Services capital
campaign, “We would like to thank Chicopee and DAVE FM for partnering with this generous
donation. The donation we received through this program will help rebuild Anselma House and
give women (with or without children) suffering from abuse a safe place to come. Thank you!”

“107.5 DAVE FM was very proud to have partnered with Chicopee Ski & Summer Resort to put
this promotion together benefiting Women’s Crisis Services of Waterloo Region; to have the
local support to this magnitude is simply amazing and a true testament to the giving nature of
our community”, said Lars Wunsche, General Manager of Corus Radio Kitchener.
“We are pleased the community has come to play with us and support Chicopee with this great
cause. To surpass our goal of reaching a $25 000 contribution to the Rebuild Anselma House
campaign is a wonderful achievement. We are consistently looking at unique ways to work with
and give back to our surrounding community. We’re proud of our associations with other
programs such as the COPS program out of the Centreville‐Chicopee Community Centre, the
Food Bank and organizations such as Waterloo Region Track 3 Program” states Reg Verley,
Executive Director of Chicopee Ski & Summer Resort. “Chicopee is proud of its donations to a
multitude of charities; last year contributing over $19000. As a not‐for‐profit organization
ourselves, we’ve seen how tough the economy has been on charities this year.” We, ourselves,
will soon be asking the community to get involved in our ‘Hand Up’ fundraising campaign to
enhance the existing and new infrastructure for the pleasure of our guests.
