There is an old Chinese curse, "May you live in interesting times." While not the direst of curses, it certainly highlights the fact that "interesting times" means that change is afoot. Life is always changing, but in business (and perhaps especially the construction industry) change is something we struggle with because it requires us to constantly learn new skills, new information and not rely on "what we have always done."

CO-OPERATORS GENERAL INSURANCE COMPANY REPORTS THIRD QUARTER 2010 NET LOSS OF $11.5 MILLION
GUELPH - Co-operators General Insurance Company today announced its consolidated financial results for the three months ended September 30, 2010. For the third quarter, Co-operators General reported a consolidated net loss of $11.5 million, compared to a net loss of $16.1 million for the same quarter in 2009.

Ottawa Carleton University has announced that kidnap victim Amanda Lindhout will be the keynote speaker at the Yes, You Can!, student-run leadership conference in January. An estimated 400 students and faculty are expected to participate in the conference on Jan. 15, 2011.
