FIVE WATERLOO REGION RIDING DEBATES TO AIR ON CABLE 20

Waterloo – As the nation prepares to cast their 2011 Federal Election ballot, Rogers TV delivers on its commitment to help viewers make an informed choice on decision day. Five Waterloo Region candidate debates will air on Rogers TV’s The Local Campaign. Coverage begins with the Cambridge Riding Debate, hosted by the Social Planning Council of Cambridge and YWCA Cambridge, Friday, April 15 at 7 PM on Cable 20. “Our extensive debate coverage connects viewers to the politicians they’ll see on their ballot,” says Charles Wechsler, Station Manager, Rogers TV. “This is a unique opportunity to hear what our local electoral candidates have to say, and see how they align with the issues that matter to our families and our community.”

In addition to the Social Planning Council and YWCA Cambridge debate, Rogers TV, in partnership with 570 NEWS, will host four televised debates in the Rogers TV Kitchener studio. Candidates will field questions from a media panel, and from viewers via phone, email and Twitter.
