TORONTO - Financial Executives International Canada, the professional membership association for senior financial executives, is pleased to announce that Pierre Matuszewski, MBA, and Victor Wells, FCA, ICD.D, are the recipients of the 2011 Frank S. Capon Distinguished Service Award.

"FEI Canada is pleased to thank all of its many volunteers on National Volunteers Week and, in particular, we are pleased to honour Pierre Matuszewski and Victor Wells as this year's Capon Award winners. These two outstanding individuals have made extraordinary contributions to the growth of our organization," said Michael Conway, chief executive and national president, FEI Canada. "FEI Canada is grateful to both Victor and Pierre for their long term and ongoing dedication and commitment to our organization and their profession at large. Pierre's efforts forged stronger ties among FEI Canada's chapters, as well as improving relations between the U.S. organization and our national office," Mr. Conway said. "Victor brings knowledge, dedication and contagious enthusiasm to the many FEI Canada portfolios with which he has been involved, including the Committee on Corporate Reporting and the Canadian Financial Executives Research Foundation." Both award winners also contributed significantly to the development of their respective local chapters, he said.

Mr. Matuszewski, a member of FEI Canada's Quebec Chapter, is Chief Executive Officer, Societe Generale (Canada). Over his 30-year career, Mr. Matuszewski has been involved in a large number of domestic and cross-border equity and debt transactions as well as mergers, acquisitions and financial advisory transactions, with Societe Generale and other leading Canadian investment banks.

Mr. Wells, a member of FEI Canada's Southern Golden Horseshoe Chapter, is a veteran business leader and now serves on boards of Canadian public companies, with an emphasis on audit committees. He has experience in a wide scope of industries, including transportation, health care, investment property and mining. He has expertise in corporate governance, strategic bottom-line management and assessing the balance between risk and reward in complex corporate finance strategies. Boards Mr. Wells serves or has served on include: MagIndustries; Student Transportation Inc.; GT Canada Medical Properties Inc.; Northstar Healthcare Inc.; TriNorth Capital Inc. and Canada Cartage Income Fund.

Mr. Matuszewski and Mr. Wells will be recognized for their long standing contributions to FEI Canada and the financial community at large, at FEI Canada's Annual Conference, which will be held in Ottawa from June 8-10, 2011. More information on this exciting event can be found at www.feicanada.org. FEI Canada's Board of Directors joins the Quebec and Southern Golden Horseshoe Chapters in extending their sincerest congratulations to both winners.
