Volunteer Power Is Growing...By 10

Guelph - Already known as Canada’s most caring community, the Volunteer Centre of Guelph/Wellington hopes to make Guelph and Wellington County an even more involved community by encouraging citizens to donate more of their time to causes they are passionate about.

“As we celebrate National Volunteer Week and the 10th anniversary of the Volunteer Centre, it is humbling to think of the thousands of community volunteers who make our community a better place,” said Sue Bennett, board chair of the Volunteer Centre. Continued Ms. Bennett, “As great as these numbers are, we know our community can do more: that’s why we are excited to launch The Power of 10 campaign.”

The Power of 10 is a grass roots movement to encourage everyone in Guelph and Wellington to engage with their community. The Power of 10 invites people to do one, two or three important, yet simple things: DO by giving 10 hours of volunteer time; GIVE by donating $10 to the Volunteer Centre and SHARE by inviting 10 friends to join the Power of 10. Everyone is invited to take the Power of 10 pledge at powerof10.ca

Macquarie Private Wealth Inc is the primary sponsor for the year-long initiative. Macquarie Investment Advisor, Will Mactaggart, is extremely proud to be a part of the Power of 10. “This is a great fit for our company culture of community involvement and giving back,” said Mactaggart. “We are excited about the impact the Power of 10 will have on Guelph and Wellington and will be encouraging all our friends and clients to take the pledge.”

The Power of 10 campaign was launched at the Time to Give community breakfast, an annual celebration of volunteerism in our community.
