Supporting The Waterloo Regional Police Service

Helping Local Police Boost Community Safety

Waterloo - The Waterloo Regional Police Service will soon have new resources to better support crime investigations and protect families throughout the Waterloo region.

With funds received through the Civil Remedies Grant program, the Waterloo Regional Police Service will acquire:

. A police services dog trained in currency detection

. A specially equipped SUV for the Canine Unit to transport service dogs

. A transport vehicle for the Mounted Police Patrol’s horses

The Civil Remedies Act enables money to be taken out of the hands of wrongdoers, and used to assist victims and police services. The police will use this grant to help keep Waterloo families and communities safe.
