The Waterloo Region Small Business Centre Celebrates Entrepreneurs
Kitchener - On March 6, the Waterloo Region Small Business Centre and the Wellington-Waterloo Community Futures Corporation honoured the success of selected entrepreneurs who are making an impact on our local economy.
Outstanding Young Entrepreneur Award Recipients included Cameron Vannatter - Denim Entertainment; and Tiia Planert - Cupcakes! Cupcakes! Cupcakes!
Outstanding Entrepreneur Awards went to: Food and Hospitality Award, Marc Lecompte, The Princess Cafe; Health and Wellness Award, Julie Mardian, Mardian Natural Medicine; Independent Service Business Award, Barney Kuntz, Pinacle Fitness; Trailblazer Award, Robert Brunnenmier and James Barnett, Flightpath.
The event included workshops on Engagement Marketing using online tools and tips on Writing Good Content. Closing the night was a one hour session where Daiene Vernile moderated a panel discussion featuring Natalie MacNeil, CEO and award winning blogger “She Takes on the World”, Michael Litt, CEO Vidyard, an online video company, and Michelle Romanow, Founder of buytopia.ca, offering online limited time offers at exclusive prices.
“Entrepreneurs make an important contribution to their respective communities and industry sectors in Waterloo Region. This year the Waterloo Region Small Business Centre and the Wellington-Waterloo Community Futures Corporation jointly celebrates small business owners who have turned their skills, strengths and innovative ideas into success stories,” says Chris Farrell Manager of WRSBC. “They are all passionate about what they do, have shown significant growth, willing to learn from experienced mentors, demonstrates excellence in customer service.
