The Access Show Returns to the Kitchener Auditorium this year!

Kitchener — Mark your calendars on September 21st and 22nd, 2012, and join the Independent Living Centre of Waterloo Region at the Kitchener auditorium for Access 2012!

Access 2012 is a two-day tradeshow, open to the public, featuring the best in accessible products and services for people with disabilities and their families. This year, the event will feature a Friday evening performance from Canadian singer-songwriter Justin Hines. Hines, who is himself a person with a disability, will be promoting his new album, Days to Recall, released late last year.

The event will prominently feature a variety of displays, from accessible vehicles to services that can help Waterloo Region’s citizens with disabilities to live independently in our community. It will also feature live, on-stage demonstrations, presentations and performances from groups dedicated to independent living and the creation of a more accessible community.

The Independent Living Centre of Waterloo Region is very excited to be bringing the Access 2012 exhibition to our community once again, especially after the success of its Access 2010 tradeshow! The show takes the concept of the Toronto-based People in Motion event and gives it a local flavour, making it accessible to our neighbours with disabilities who may not be able to make the long trip to Toronto.

The Independent Living Centre of Waterloo Region’s Executive Director, Bil Smith, and Director of Access and Awareness, Paula Saunders, are available to give interviews on Access 2012 for print, radio and television. They can be contacted by phone at (519)571-6788, or by e-mail at bsmith@ilcwr.org and paula@ilcwr.org.
