Cartleton’s Martha Wiebe Wins the Bessie Touzel Award

Ottawa - Martha Wiebe, an instructor in Carleton’s School of Social Work, has been honoured with the Bessie Touzel Award. The award celebrates her lifelong achievement in the field of social work as recognized by the Ontario Association of Social Workers (OASW).

For nearly four decades, Wiebe has been a champion of social causes and social work principles. Her extensive work in placing the next generation of social workers into meaningful practicums is an example of her dedication to the field.

“When you see these young people who can do anything they want, and they’re choosing this field – to help others – that is a reason for hope and optimism,” says Wiebe.
