2nd Annual Insider Ride Event raises $30, 000

Cambridge - The 2nd annual Ride to Beat Childhood Cancer was held Sunday June 3. The event put on by two groups, the Work For A Cure and The Coast to Coast Against Cancer Foundation raised over $30,000 during their second annual Inside Ride to Beat Childhood Cancer.

The Inside Ride is Canada’s first indoor cycling celebration that raises funds in support of children and their families living with and beyond childhood cancer.

15 teams of 6 peddled as hard and as fast as they could in hopes of helping a child live cancer free.

This years’ ride was dedicated to Heather Leonardo, a 19 year young woman who lost her battle with cancer in March 2012.

WFAC and The Coast to Coast against Cancer Foundations raises funds for childhood cancer charities through active, healthy lifestyle events. Funds raised are shared amongst local community and national childhood cancer charities that provide emotional, physical and medical support to children and teenagers living with, and beyond, cancer.

The Inside Ride raises awareness for families and children with cancer and provide funding for community support programmes, academic scholarships and other areas which contribute to inspiring hope and improving prognoses for children and their families impacted by cancer.
