Experience a KW Holiday Tradition with Yuletide Spectacular!

Kitchener - Join the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony to celebrate the Holiday Season on Friday, December 14 at 8 pm and Saturday, December 15 at 2:30 and 8 pm at the Centre In The Square. Led by conductor Matt Catingub, the concert will feature holiday favourites with special guests the Grand Philharmonic Choir, Grand Philharmonic Youth Choir, Classical Dance Conservatory and a side-by-side performance by the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony Youth Orchestra. Rising star and local talent A.J. Bridel returns from her run on CBC’s Over the Rainbow to join this year’s Holiday celebration.

This special concert brings together over 200 performers, led by legendary musician Matt Catingub, a favourite with KWS audiences. Catingub’s unique abilities as a conductor, composer, arranger, instrumentalist, and singer are known throughout the entertainment industry. He has worked with Rosemary Clooney, Diana Krall, Kenny Loggins, Michael Feinstein, John Pizzarelli, Michael McDonald, among others. This year’s Yuletide Spectacular features special arrangements Holiday favourites, including a Charlie Brown Christmas Medley, The Chipmunk Song, 12 Days of Christmas, There’s No Place Like Home for the Holidays, and more.

"I am so thrilled to be conducting and hosting one of the grandest Christmas productions I have ever had the opportunity to be involved with,” commented Catibgub. “It's gonna be spectacular!"

“This will be a true festive celebration of the incredible local talent we have here in Waterloo Region,” stated Executive Director Genevieve Twomey. “It is exciting to welcome back the legendary Matt Catingub to lend his talents to this holiday tradition. YULETIDE SPECTACULAR runs December 14, 2012 at 8pm and December 15, 2012 at 2:30 and 8 pm at the Centre In the Square, 101 Queen St. N. in Kitchener. Tickets start at $19 and can be purchased online at kwsymphony.ca or by calling 519.745.4711 or 888.745.4717.
