Fred Losani named the Goodman School of Business 2012/13 Distinguished Graduate

ST. CATHARINES, Ont. — Fred Losani, owner and CEO of Losani Homes has been named the Goodman School of Business Distinguished Graduate for 2012/13. The Distinguished Graduate award is presented to a graduate of the Goodman School of Business (formerly the Faculty of Business) at Brock University for outstanding business or personal achievement.

“It is a great honour for the Goodman School of Business to welcome Mr. Losani as its Distinguished Graduate for 2012/13,” says Don Cyr, Dean of the School of Business. “Mr. Losani is a well-respected businessman whose company Losani Homes, has won many awards. In addition to his business success, he is passionate about philanthropy and adventure, and his philosophy - that helping the children of today builds a better future - is one that Fred has built into his personal and corporate values, and one that make him truly a distinguished grad.”

Fred has travelled to both the North and South Poles and last month, along with a few other influential business leaders in Hamilton, successfully completed a 30-day, 855 km trek of the Bruce Trail, called the Bruce Trail Expedition for Kids, to raise funds and awareness for Hamilton kids charities. Fred and his team have raised over 3 million dollars for Hamilton’s inner-city kids through these initiatives.

“On every trek we have undertaken, our goal for fundraising has been simple: to raise as much awareness and financial support as possible for our Hamilton youth,” offers Fred Losani. “However, this experience has been so much more than that. We are truly “exploring” in our own “backyard”. Through this journey we have been able to draw attention to the variety of natural beauty and breathtaking scenery that we have right here! We’re helping get a new generation of students and their parents thinking about protecting and maintaining the Bruce Trail, which is just outside their door.”

Losani Homes, founded in 1976, is a second generation home builder, developer, commercial design build contractor and property manager. The company is renowned for its award winning designs, craftsmanship and exceptional customer service. The Losani team excels at taking a sincere and exacting approach to building and at developing exciting communities and creative plans. As one of Canada’s 50 Best Managed Companies, a dedication to excellence and growth continue to be a driving force.

Mr. Losani will be recognized at a special reception on December 5. The media is welcome to attend this event, but it is not open to the public.
