Clare Beckton Named One of Canada’s Most Powerful Women in 2012 Awards

Ottawa - Clare Beckton, executive director of the Carleton Centre for Women in Politics and Public Leadership, has received the prestigious 2012 Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100 Award in the Champions category.

Each year, the Women’s Executive Network (WXN) celebrates the professional achievements of women across the country in the private, public and not-for-profit sectors. Beckton joins a community of 653 women who have received the Top 100™ Award over the last decade, recognizing the highest achieving female leaders in Canada. Winners are selected based on their strategic vision and leadership, their organization’s financial performance, and their commitment to their communities.

Beckton will be celebrated on Dec. 5 at the Sheraton Centre Toronto among the other Top 100 Award Winners for 2012.

In November 2012, Beckton was included as part of the Women of Influence’s (WOI) list of Canadian Diversity Champions.
