ACCESS FOR ALL TO DUNFIELD THEATRE CAMBRIDGE
CAmbridge - The Gore Mutual Insurance Company Foundation recently donated $150,000 to the Dunfield Theatre Cambridge. The funds will support the theatre’s elevator, which will potentially accommodate 16,000 theatregoers each season.
"For most people, the decision to participate in cultural events is effortless. It is imperative that patrons and visitors with mobility limitations have the same freedom of choice," says Alex Mustakas, Artistic Director of Drayton Entertainment. "As a proven community leader, backed by a reputation spanning 174 years, Gore Mutual Insurance Company is viewed as an excellent partner for this project because of a shared value proposition relating to core principles of dignity, independence, integrity, and equal opportunity."
The elevator, named in honour of the Gore Mutual Foundation, will provide patrons, including those with disabilities, multiple seating options at the theatre. Providing elevator service embodies Drayton Entertainment’s commitment to equal opportunity and improving access to community facilities.
“We are honoured to participate in bringing theatre accessibility to our community” says Charles Cipolla, Chair of the Gore Mutual Foundation and Chair of the Board of Gore Mutual. “The Dunfield Theatre Cambridge is a great cultural addition to our community and we are proud to be a part of it.”
