Hairunited the show 2014 is coming

Supports children and families with special needs!

Kitchener – Maddy is a 9-year-old girl who struggles with managing loud situations and locations with lots of people. She becomes anxious and fearful in unfamiliar surroundings. As a result, her parents avoid family outings for fear that Maddy becomes agitated and enraged. While Maddy’s family is supportive of her special needs, their days are exhausting and restricting. Maddy’s parents were very thankful when they discovered Carizon Family and Community Services’ Encompass Recreation Program. Carizon recognizes the need for all children to have recreational opportunities and for parents and guardians to have a much needed break from caring for children with social, emotional and behavioural concerns.

Artline Salon also recognized the importance of the Encompass Recreation program for our community and chose this program as the recipient for its upcoming fundraising event: HairUnited, The Show 2014. “The Encompass Program not only helps the children in its care,” says Event Organizer Lina Shamoun, “but helps the entire family, parents and siblings included. This program is funded only through donations, so without community support, it wouldn’t exist. Supporting this program is our way of giving back to the community where we work and live.”

While Artline Salon is the primary driver of the HairUnited event, many salons are participating and sharing their talents, including: Pino’s Salon & Medi Spa, Fad Hair Studio, Teknik Salon & Spa, St. Louis Adult Learning Centre, Bilalo’s Hair Artistry, Flo Hair Lounge, So Chiq, and Cucci Cabello.

The event is an evening of inspiration, creativity, talent, fashion and fun. EmCeed by 106.7 Country personality Jennifer Campbell, the evening features fashion shows and entertainment and will be held at the newly renovated Crowne Plaza in downtown Kitchener. Tickets are $30 in Advance and can be purchased at any of the participating salons or at Carizon Family and Community Services located at 400 Queen Street South in Kitchener. Tickets can also be purchased at the door for $35.
