Art Wilson Continues to Raise Money at 91

Cambridge - United Way has many loyal contributors and vocal advocates in the community, but few are as dedicated as Art Wilson. Celebrating his birthday, turning 91 years young on Oct. 3rd, he is a stalwart supporter of United Way and the change that is possible in the community if people get involved.

This year, Art Wilson made a personal donation of $1,000 at the United Way campaign kickoff on September 17th to inspire others in the community to donate whatever they could to improve the lives of others in the community.

Having raised over $55,000 for United Way of Cambridge and North Dumfries over the past decade, and climbing to the top of the CN Tower several times (after surviving two knee replacements and cancer) he continues to solicit for donations at his old training ground, the YMCA of Cambridge.

For two weeks in September and October Art spent his days greeting those coming into the YMCA Cambridge, and asking local residents for donations to support the most vulnerable among us. He exemplifies the United Way call to action: Give. Volunteer. Act.
