Student teams set to start can construction

Waterloo - The University of Waterloo’s annual CanBuild food drive will have more than 200 students participate in 17 teams across campus today. The goal, to build creative structures using food donations for The Feds Food Bank and The Food Bank of Waterloo Region.

Eight teams will build structures in the Student Life Centre and the remaining nine teams will build in various buildings around campus. A team in the Early Childhood Education will be joined by around 70 toddlers to build a can structure.

UWaterloo CanBuild strives to raise awareness of hunger and the need for food, on campus and in the community. The event engages the campus community to develop teams, collaborate with colleagues and put creativity skills to work by building structures from the food donations.
