Morneau Shepell to present in Canada’s Technology Triangle on making the most of employee assistance providers

Employees are seeking support now more than ever with a 50 per cent increase in EFAP usage over the past four years

Kitchener – Morneau Shepell, Canada’s leading provider of employee and family assistance programs (EFAP), has seen a 50 per cent increase in EFAP usage since 2011 as a result of work-related and personal issues, citing a 62 per cent increase in depression counselling in the last two years and a 14 per cent increase in stress counselling in the last year. Stephen Liptrap, Executive Vice President, Morneau Shepell and General Manager, Shepell, is presenting on this topic at a dinner event for the Grand Valley Chapter of the Human Resources Professionals Association (HRPA) and will provide solutions for getting more value from an EFAP.

In a technologically savvy region like Kitchener-Waterloo and the surrounding area, accessibility through mobile devices is essential. As of March 2015, the Company’s My EAP app has been downloaded over 150,000 times and has won several awards for its innovative approach to EFAP awareness and accessibility.
