Canadian Olympic hero and Toronto 2015 Chef de Mission Curt Harnett to deliver official uniform to Nutrition for Learning leader after helping prepare and serve snacks at Holy Rosary Elementary School
Waterloo Region - Today three-time Olympic Medalist and Pan American Games Gold Medalist Curt Harnett will congratulate Kelly-Sue Labus on being selected by President's ChoiceR as an official Toronto 2015 Pan Am Torch Relay Torchbearer. Labus - Executive Director at Nutrition for Learning.
Labus was selected because of her leadership of 2,000 local volunteers and her commitment to inspiring healthy food choices and to ensuring students in the Waterloo region are in a position to succeed. She will be one of more than 100 breakfast program related volunteers from across the country representing President's ChoiceR in the relay.
In addition to delivering the official Toronto 2015 Pan Am Torchbearer uniform, Harnett - Canada's Chef de Mission for the 2015 Games - will also be speaking and serving nutritious snacks to students at Holy Rosary.
Nutrition for Learning and President's Choice Children's Charities support Holy Rosary's in-school nutrition program.
The team at President's Choice will be feeding the thousands of athletes and volunteers who will bring the Games to life. Yet, through its torchbearer program, another lasting legacy from the Games will be a greater awareness of proper nutrition and eating for success in everyday life. President's Choice Children's Charities supports hundreds of breakfast programs across the country. President's Choice Children's Charities donated more than $5 million to in-school nutrition programs in 2014.
