Gore Mutual Foundation Donates $100,000 to Rebuild Haven House in Cambridge
Cambridge - The Gore Mutual Foundation is honoured to announce their support of Women’s Crisis Services of Waterloo Region, with a grant of $100,000 towards the campaign: Rebuild Haven House…She Deserves It. “The Gore Mutual Foundation has a commitment to supporting local initiatives, with a priority to protecting families and keeping them safe from harm. Partnering with Women’s Crisis Services and their campaign to Rebuild Haven House was a natural fit, as we commit to a community without violence and abuse,” said Heidi Sevcik, President and CEO, Gore Mutual Insurance Company.
Heidi Sevcik, President and CEO of Gore Mutual and Farouk Ahamed, Chair of the Board of Gore Mutual, presented a donation to Mary Zilney, CEO of Women’s Crisis Services, towards the rebuild of Haven House, a shelter supporting women and their children fleeing abusive homes in Cambridge, Ontario and North Dumfries Township.

It is only because of amazing partners such as Gore Mutual that Women's Crisis Services will be able to continue providing essential services to abused women and their children throughout Waterloo Region. They have demonstrated their leadership in our community and for this we are extremely thankful," said Mary Zilney, Chief Executive Officer, Women’s Crisis Services Waterloo Region.
§ The rebuild Haven House is located at the corner of Elgin Street and Acorn Way in Cambridge.
§ The new shelter will increase capacity to serve 45 women and children who are victims of domestic violence and abuse in Waterloo Region.
