Kitchener - Digital Journalist/Multimedia Producer Phil Froklage is a writer, filmmaker and journalist in Waterloo Region has released the first episode of the Communitech Podcast which features a conversation between Mike Kirkup, Director of the University of Waterloo’s Velocity program, and Ted Livingston, co-founder and CEO of Kik Interactive.

The two recently chatted on stage in front of 300 students at the University of Waterloo’s Hagey Hall about Kik, BlackBerry, venture capitalist Fred Wilson, the future of chat, and how to build a billion-dollar tech company in Waterloo Region. The conversation has been edited for length and clarity.
