GreenHouse Social Impact Showcase features expert on youth-led entrepreneurship

Waterloo - An expert on youth engagement will be the keynote speaker at the December Social Impact Showcase, organized by St. Paul’s GreenHouse, a social impact incubator at the University of Waterloo. Ilona Dougherty is an Ashoka Fellow and co-founder of Apathy Is Boring. She will discuss the importance of youth-led social innovation and entrepreneurship.

GreenHouse will also announce grants for some early-stage, high-potential ideas, as well as a new opportunity for entrepreneurial youth from across the region. The Social Impact Fund winners will present their projects.

This term, GreenHouse innovators have been working on ways to address various issues, including land mine diffusion, sex trafficking, climate change, mental health, support services for new Canadians, and rape culture.
