Ontario Hospitals Welcome Dialogue on Future of Ontario's Health Care System

Toronto - The Minister of Health and Long-Term Care, the Hon. Eric Hoskins, released a discussion paper on potential structural changes to Ontario's health care system, and announced that consultations would begin in the new year. Ontario hospitals look forward to participating in this important discussion.

"Ontario hospitals are eager to participate in these system-wide conversations on restructuring, providing constructive ideas and advice to government to ensure effective implementation, focused always on patient and client need," said Anthony Dale, President and CEO of the Ontario Hospital Association (OHA).

Ontario hospitals have become champions of patient-centered care and have developed strong partnerships with other providers in an effort to create a better experience for patients across a range of different services. These consultations offer an opportunity to look at new ways of moving patients through the health care system and ensuring they receive the right care, whether it is in a hospital or in the community.

"The OHA welcomes this dialogue and the invitation to help shape the future of Ontario's health care system."
