Washington, DC — Americans pessimistic about economic opportunities and current political climate. Many Americans feel pessimistic about the economic opportunities available to them. Two-third of Americans believe that the American economy is rigged to help the rich and powerful, while the majority of Americans also believe that the middle class is dying (68%)

In a call for change, nearly seven in ten Americans (68%) say that traditional politicians no longer care about the average American and half of respondents (49%) say that America needs a leader that is willing to break the rules

In a hypothetical match-up between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton, Clinton (35%) narrowly out Trump (31%) amongst all Americans

These are findings from an Ipsos poll conducted on February 10-12, 2016. For the survey, a sample of 1,005 Americans ages 18+ were interviewed online. The precision of the Ipsos online polls is measured using a credibility interval. In this case, the poll has a credibility interval of plus or minus 3.5 percentage points for all adults.
