Meet and Greet
MP and MPP constituency offices move to Waterloo city hall
Waterloo - Over the last two months, Waterloo’s federal and provincial representatives have moved to city hall. On Feb. 1, 2016, Waterloo’s staff and council welcomed the Honourable Catherine Fife, MPP for Kitchener-Waterloo to her new Waterloo constituency office on the second floor of city hall. On March 1, 2016, the Honourable Bardish Chagger, P.C., MP for Waterloo, was welcomed to her new office space on the third floor of the Waterloo City Centre.
The addition of the MP and MPP constituency offices, creates a ‘first’ for Waterloo Region and possibly in Ontario. For the first time, all three levels of government will be represented in the same building.
“This is a fantastic opportunity and while I anticipate greater ease in collaborating with our government partners, the bigger win is for our citizens,” says Mayor Dave Jaworsky. “Community members will have the convenience of accessing all three levels of government under one roof.”
To welcome these two additional levels of government to the city centre, Mayor Jaworsky and council are hosting a meet and greet on March 31, 2016. This is an opportunity to welcome MPP Fife and MP Chagger to the city centre, while providing an opportunity for MPP Fife and MP Chagger to meet their constituents for an informal reception.
