Grant Thornton LLP Announces New Regional Managing Partners Driving Excellence in Atlantic and Western Canada
Toronto - Further to announcing incoming CEO elect, Kevin Ladner on December 21, 2015, Grant Thornton LLP announces the appointments of Regional Managing Partners: Michele Williams, FCPA, FCA, for Atlantic Canada and Norm Raynard, CPA, CBV, for Western Canada.

Michele Williams, Regional Managing Partner, Atlantic Canada
Currently Managing Partner, Nova Scotia, Michele successfully led the firm's Nova Scotia practice for the last ten years, serving as a member of the firm's senior leadership team during this period. Michele and her team strengthened the Grant Thornton brand in the Nova Scotia marketplace. In her new role Michele will oversee 27 offices and a team of 600 people across Atlantic Canada.
"I bring a strong passion for creating an exceptional work environment and ensuring an exceptional client experience as a result, our firm in Nova Scotia has had consistently strong performance year over year," said Michele Williams. "This is something I'm proud of and I look forward to my new role with the same pride and enthusiasm."
Michele is currently serving on several Boards including the Board of Governors of Dalhousie University, the Halifax Chamber of Commerce, the Atlantic Chapter International Women's Forum, and Chair of the Accounting Education Foundation of Nova Scotia. She earned her CPA designation in 1990 and was awarded her FCPA in 2014.
Norm Raynard, Regional Managing Partner, Western Canada
For the past five years Norm has been the Managing Partner of the firm's New Brunswick practice, also serving as a member of the firm's senior leadership team during this period. He brings experience as both an assurance and corporate finance practitioner, holding various leadership roles in advisory services and senior management.
"I am excited to be moving to Vancouver to support the Western Canada region." said Norm Raynard. "I look back appreciatively over the past number of years. I've had the opportunity, along with my partners, to lead the transformation of the firm in New Brunswick, achieving significant success in terms of our culture and client experience, improving overall business performance."
Norm's exceptional relationship building skills and his external market orientation will accelerate his integration into the western region, along with the support of our Partners and our people.
Norm began his career with Grant Thornton in 1990, obtaining his CPA designation in 1993 and CBV designation in 2000, and he is a more recent graduate of the Oxford University global leadership development program.
