The Georgian Bay Symphony presents Praise Lam on Violin. This program introduces China by means of the Butterfly Lover's Concerto made famous by Vanessa Mae, played by our new Principal Second Violin, Praise Lam. It has premieres of music by Ron Hannah, a Canadian Composer who has spent a number of years in China; Kevin Lau, a brilliant young Canadian-Chinese composer and our own Composer-in-Residence, Richard Mascall with his arrangements of Puccini's Turandot. It will feature Flower Drum Song by the renowned Canadian-Chinese composer Chan Ka Nin and Yao Dance, a traditional song. $23/$21/$15/$5

This innovative and infectious group has developed an entire music genre known as swingin folk chunk. They are outgoing, funny, generous, friendly and gregarious bunch wanting to have a kitchen party with the world. The Polyjesters perform for the most part as a quartet that includes Rob Vulic on percussion and Matthew Woodward on fiddle. Jason Valleau is the bass guru / vocalist and Sheldon Valleau, in addition to being the only full time baritone ukulele player in Canada, is the lyricist and lead vocalist.
