Baden, Digging up Wilmot
Castle Kilbride, 60 Snyder's Road W.
What was here before? For this exhibit we will dig for the truth. A fascinating display that travels through the history of our beautiful township, beginning with fossils from pre-historic times, to Native artifacts, pioneer pieces, all the way to Victorian "trash." The exhibit will highlight William John Wintemberg born in New Dundee, who was the first archaeologist in Canada to study the various aboriginal cultures of Ontario scientifically and was long recognized as the leading authority on that subject. Items kindly on loan from the Ministry of Culture, the ROM and local residents.

Waterloo, Interview - Celebrity Diplomacy
Centre for International Governance Innovation, 57 Erb St. W
"CTV's Daiene Vernile in Discussion with Dr. Andrew F. Cooper on "Celebrity Diplomacy". Cooper suggests that these new actors have a significant and increasingly important role in the world of diplomacy. "Bono and Bob Geldof have made African debt relief a staple feature of the G8's agenda, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation operates on a much larger budget than the World Health Organization," notes Cooper, "and Mia Farrow has influenced China's policy towards intervention in Sudan." Citing these examples, the author concludes that this new type of activity is changing the way diplomacy is conducted. 7:00pm to 9:00pm. CIGI Atrium. Dr. Andrew F. Cooper, CIGI Distinguished Fellow. Kitchener, Sun Life Financial Art Talks
Kitchener-Waterloo Art Gallery, 101 Queen St.N.
Art Talk with Peter Greenaway, Co-presented by KW|AG and the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics
Hosted by Robert Enright.
In 2005, KW|AG and the Perimeter Institute formed a partnership to bring cutting edge visual art presentations by distinguished artists and cultural figures to Waterloo Region. Each presentation is hosted by Robert Enright in a lecture and interview format. Peter Greenaway is an artistic polymath: film director, visual artist, opera librettist, multi-media performer, and now VJ. Best known for his film work; he has directed 14 feature-length films, beginning with The Falls (1980), and most recently with Nightwatching (2007), his exploration into the meaning of one of Rembrandt's most famous and perplexing paintings. 7:30 p.m, www.kwag.on.ca.
