Grand River Country Events for May and June
Registration is underway for summer camps
Grand River - Registration is now open for the many summer camp programs for kids age six to 16 provided by the Grand River Conservation Authority. These are available at five nature centres throughout the watershed: Guelph Lake Nature Centre (Guelph), Laurel Creek Nature Centre (Waterloo), Apps' Mill Nature Centre (Brantford) Rockwood Nature Centre, Belwood Lake fishing camp.

Torn From Home: My Life as a Refugee
Waterloo Region - Today, more than 30 million people around the world have been displaced due to war and violence, creating nearly 10 million child refugees. Through this inspiring exhibit, visitors of all ages explore what it means to be a refugee, and better understand their hardships and hopes for a brighter future. Through its seven interactive areas, this awe-inspiring exhibit encourages visitors to consider how it feels to flee home, leave everything behind, and face the future with uncertainty and hope.

TORONTO - Lake Ontario Waterkeeper announced that its second annual gala and art auction presented by the RBC Blue Water Project will be co-hosted by Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., President of Waterkeeper Alliance and photographer Edward Burtynsky. The 2013 Waterkeeper Gala will take place on Thursday, May 23, 2013 at Corus Quay in Toronto.

Waterloo Wellington Children's Groundwater Festival
WATERLOO REGION - The 18th annual Waterloo Wellington Children's Groundwater Festival has arrived. Over 5,000 students will learn important messages about water at the week-long event held at the Waterloo Region Museum and Doon Heritage Village in Kitchener. This year's event begins on May 27, and features a VIP Day on May 29 and culminates with the free public EcoFest on Saturday, June 1.

Artist Ai Weiwei announced as part of lineup for Toronto's eighth annual Scotiabank Nuit Blanche
The City of Toronto announced a selection of artists who will present projects at the 2013 edition of Scotiabank Nuit Blanche. On Saturday, October 5, more than 110 contemporary art projects will be exhibited across the city for 12 hours from sunset to sunrise.
