Enactus Wilfrid Laurier - Waterloo has been named 2020 Enactus National Champion by the country’s largest experiential learning platform, Enactus Canada, and a 50-person judging panel comprised of top Canadian CEOs, for their ability to enable social, environmental and economic progress through entrepreneurial action.

Enactus Laurier’s EarthSuds tablets are 100% plastic-free and vegan. This past year, they employed eight individuals with developmental disabilities, saved almost 20,000 litres of water and generated over $100,000 in funding through their project. Currently, 55 retailers are carrying EarthSuds.

“Enactus Laurier did not cease to amaze everyone with their tremendous work.” said Nicole Almond (photo), Enactus Canada president. “Congratulations and good luck at the Enactus World Cup!”

Enactus Wilfrid Laurier University - Waterloo competed against 46 other post-secondary institutions in three rounds of virtual presentation-based competition. Each team had 12 minutes to showcase how their entrepreneurial projects advance the social, economic and environmental health of communities, create new career opportunities, spark business innovation and change lives.

The National Champion will now advance to represent Canada at the Enactus World Cup taking place virtually in September 2020.

As a leading Enactus and Canadian youth proponent, Tim Hortons proudly hosted the Final Round of Competition, and awarded Enactus Laurier with the honourable ‘Tim Hortons Cup’.

The Enactus Canada National Exposition unites 1,500 delegates including the country’s brightest university and college students, academic professionals and top Canadian CEOs to enable progress by supporting entrepreneurial action through competition, recognition and education.
