Preferred Health Care Services Selects GoldCare MobilityPlus Following Successful Unique Pilot Project
Waterloo GoldCare announced that Preferred Health Care Services has successfully piloted GoldCare MobilityPlus as a communications solution for their personal support services and nursing services in clients’ homes, retirement homes, and long-term care facilities.
As a development partner working with GoldCare, Preferred Health Care Services initially started with a
20-user pilot to ensure the solution met their organizational requirements, as well as the expectations of
users in the field.
“This was a fantastic opportunity to trial this exciting new solution before we rolled it out to our full
staff,” notes Barb van Maris, Director of Quality Improvement and Risk Management, Preferred Health
Van Maris played a key role in the design and rollout of the pilot. On the heels of the successful pilot,
Preferred Health Care Services then implemented 385 devices with the GoldCare MobilityPlus solution
between June and September 2012.
GoldCare’s diverse suite of software ensures an integrated and interdisciplinary approach to managing
every interaction with the client and provides the business intelligence, client and staff record
management, and comprehensive reporting that is required for resourceful service delivery.
Preferred Health Care Services will take advantage of GoldCare’s high level of integration to support
frontline employees and enable them to continue to provide the highest quality of services. The
implementation of the integrated solution will allow the organization to improve communication of
schedules and client information, increase accountability that visits are taking place as planned,
decrease office workload for verifying visits for billing and payroll, decrease number of calls to the office,
improve PSW satisfaction and ease of working with Preferred Health Care Services, and increase ability
to fill shifts faster.
Using GoldCare, consumers’ assessments, service needs, demographics, and resulting clinical
documentation and outcomes are consolidated in a single electronic client record. This record is
accessible through an intuitive workspace that provides a ‘day planner’ view of clients, appointments,
scheduled activities, and other up-to-date information. GoldCare’s centralized approach to information
management will streamline workflow and efficiencies, and help Preferred Health Care Services realize
improved service planning and delivery, and quality of care.
“This is just the beginning of our partnership with GoldCare,” states van Maris. “We are looking forward
to many more integrated technology solutions that will allow us to provide the best possible care to our
“We are very pleased to be partnering with Preferred Health Care Services. It was rewarding to be part
