GORE MUTUAL RECOGNIZED AS TOP EMPLOYER FOR FOURTH-CONSECUTIVE YEAR

Cambridge - Gore Mutual Insurance Company announced they have been selected as one of Waterloo Area’s Top 15 Employers. “It is an honour to receive this recognition for the fourth-consecutive year,” said Kevin McNeil, President and Chief Executive Officer of Gore Mutual. “We strive to offer a work environment that is both rewarding and stimulating, whether it is through training and skills development or our workplace atmosphere.”

Recipients of the Waterloo Area’s Top Employers awards, announced November 24th, were evaluated by the editors of Canada’s Top 100 Employers using the same criteria as the national competition. Employers are evaluated in eight areas: physical workplace; work atmosphere; health, financial and family benefits; vacation and time off; employee communications; performance management; training and skills development; and community involvement. Employers were then compared to other local organizations to determine which offers the most progressive and forward-thinking programs.

In addition to offering in-house training programs to help employees advance in their field, Gore Mutual also has a free on-site fitness centre, a lunch-hour euchre league and a foundation that has donated more than three-million dollars to registered charities over the last decade.

“Thanks to all our employees who make it fun to come to work every day,” said Ross MacMaster, Vice President, Human Resources. “I’m proud to say I work for Gore Mutual.”
