The Weather Network launches new app for Apple TV

Interactive weather app brings personalized and local forecasts to Apple TV users

Oakville - The Weather Network announced today that its weather application is now available on Apple TV. Offering features similar to its popular mobile and web apps, The Weather Network Apple TV interactive app provides users with quick and easy access to localized weather forecasts and personalized content.

Adding to The Weather Network's expanding app family, the company's inaugural Apple TV app embodies The Weather Network's commitment to deliver a great consumer experience using cutting-edge Over the Top (OTT) technology.

The Apple TV app complements The Weather Network's current app platforms, allowing users to easily access their favourite weather content and up-to-date information for their region. Using a simple, dynamic interface, users have access to key weather data, warnings and alerts through a click of the television remote. Designed for an up to 10-foot TV viewing experience, key features include:

IP targeted localized forecasts: Personalized and localized forecasts are available, showing current and upcoming weather conditions.
PointCast technology: PointCast technology provides weather information as close as one kilometer of where you are.
Enhanced weather content: Current, Hourly, 36 Hours and 14 Day forecasts are provided for a user's favourite locations.
