You Should be Dancing
Catch the Fever at Dunfield Theatre Cambridge
Cambridge Audiences in Cambridge will be “stayin’ alive” this January as one of the most famous dance stories of all time boogies onto the Dunfield Theatre Cambridge stage.
As part of the North American Tour produced by New Fever on Tour LLC Productions, Saturday Night Fever will entertain audiences for four performances only on Tuesday, January 26th and Wednesday, January 27th at 2:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
Saturday Night Fever tells the story of Tony Manero, a young man from Brooklyn with a passion for dancing. With a dead-end job and a group of deadbeat friends, Tony escapes from the harsh realities of life and spends his weekends at the local discotheque, where he relishes in the admiration of the crowd. When he meets Stephanie, an office worker who also dreams of a world outside of Brooklyn, she agrees to be his partner for an upcoming dance competition and their lives change forever.
This mega-musical hits the stage with dazzling choreography and songs from The Bee Gees chart topping soundtrack including, “Stayin’ Alive,” “How Deep is Your Love,” “More Than a Woman,” and “You Should Be Dancing!”
Saturday Night Fever is based on the 1975 New York Magazine article “Tribal Rites of the New Saturday Night” by Nik Cohn and the subsequent 1977 cult classic film starring John Travolta. With dazzling dance numbers and catchy music that has audiences dancing in their seats, Saturday Night Fever is an unforgettable theatre experience with cross-generational appeal.
