Abuse Event

Mark the end of Woman Abuse Awareness Month together with Women’s Crisis Services

Waterloo Region – Each November, in recognition of Woman Abuse Awareness month, Women’s Crisis Services of Waterloo Region hosts a community awareness event to educate about domestic violence and motivate support.

Today, Women's Crises Services ask you to join them as they present ONE ACT featuring a theatrical performance “Rage Against Violence” by Playwrights Dwight Storring and Gary Kirkham.
The cast of this unique production includes local leaders such as the Waterloo Regional Police Services Chief Bryan Larkin, City of Cambridge Mayor Doug Craig, former Mayor of Waterloo Brenda Halloran, and familiar Rogers TV personalities Chef D and Tric Fletcher, to name just a few.

Through a series of interviews with survivors, family members, professionals, and others who are close to domestic violence, the Playwrights have used testimonials and real words verbatim to put a voice to violence. The cast members will read the stories of your neighbours, coworkers and friends who live these experiences in Waterloo Region today.

Uniquely commissioned as a one time performance, this production will never be mounted in this format with this cast again. This event also features entertainment from the Singer’s Theatre and resources to learn more about the role Women’s Crisis Services has in serving women and children moving beyond violence and abuse.

This event is possible because of our gracious sponsors Rogers Radio Group, Your Neighbourhood Credit Union and Photos by Holly
